Connect Telegram to @myteasebot

tease.bot runs through the shared Telegram bot @myteasebot. You do not need to create a new BotFather bot for the standard setup. The dashboard connects your workspace to @myteasebot, then verifies that Telegram is ready before the AI assistant replies to fans.

There are two supported routes:

• Channel connection: best when your audience already lives in one or more Telegram channels. You add @myteasebot as an admin so it can listen for new chats and send paid media from the channel flow.
• Telegram Business Mode: best when fans message your personal Telegram account in private DMs. You connect @myteasebot as the Business chatbot so replies can flow through your account.

Many creator teams use both. Start with the route your audience already uses most.

What you need

• Access to your tease.bot workspace.
• Admin rights on the Telegram channel you want to connect, or access to the Telegram account you want to use with Business Mode.
• A test Telegram account or trusted teammate who can send the first message.

Connect a channel

1. Open Telegram setup

In tease.bot, open Settings -> Bot Setup. Choose Connect channel.

The dashboard shows the @myteasebot username and the permissions it needs. Keep this screen open while you switch to Telegram.

2. Add @myteasebot as an admin

In Telegram, open your channel settings, then Administrators -> Add Admin. Search for @myteasebot.

Give it the permissions shown in the tease.bot setup screen. At minimum, the bot needs permission to post messages and manage the paid-media flow. If the dashboard asks for a permission, grant that exact permission instead of guessing a smaller set.

3. Confirm in tease.bot

Return to Settings -> Bot Setup and click Verify connection.

Green means the channel is ready. Amber means Telegram has not sent the update yet, so wait a few seconds and retry. Red usually means the bot is missing a required permission or was added to the wrong channel.

4. Send a test message

Open the connected channel flow as a fan would and send a simple message from your test account. Then open Inbox in tease.bot.

You should see the fan record, the incoming message, and the AI assistant’s reply. If the tone feels off, tune Settings -> AI Chatter before opening the flow to the full audience.

Connect Business Mode

If your fans DM your personal Telegram account, connect Business Mode after the channel setup or instead of it.

Open Enable Telegram Business Mode and follow the steps there. The short version: Telegram lets a business account connect a bot that can process and answer selected private chats on the account’s behalf. The official Telegram Business announcement describes this as chatbot support for business accounts.

When BotFather is still relevant

BotFather is still Telegram’s tool for creating custom bot accounts. For the normal tease.bot product, you should not paste a random BotFather token into the dashboard or create a separate bot unless support explicitly tells you to do so.

Custom bot accounts are usually an Agency or migration-support case. If support asks you to use BotFather, they will tell you exactly which token to create and where to paste it.

Troubleshooting

The dashboard cannot verify my channel. Check that @myteasebot is an admin on the exact channel you selected and has every permission listed in the setup screen.

The test message does not show in Inbox. Make sure the message was sent through the connected channel or Business surface, not to an unrelated Telegram chat. Then refresh Inbox.

I connected the wrong channel. Remove @myteasebot from that channel, return to Settings -> Bot Setup, and connect the correct one. No fan records are deleted.

I want fans to DM me personally, not the channel bot. Use Business Mode. It is the Telegram route designed for private DMs to your account.
